Hi Jim! Re the IEA's 10 point plan: the even and odd number plates solutions made me laugh because it's something we were doing in Italy quite a long time ago. Never worked really! Everyone was using their parents' or friends' car when on the 'odd days' and vice-versa on the 'even days' And if you didn't have any public transport available on that day, and you have to go to work, you were allowed to drive anyway! Also, I've never been a fan of the car-sharing and I don't actually know anyone who ever did it.

I drive an electric van and haven't found a single government charger. Starting to have to que as more EVs than chargers in UK.A real problem now.

I like the look of the new Civic too, Jim. The old one looked like something my 8 year old had built from Lego

From what I see the increase in EV sales are down to local councils/government etc buying vehicles with our money. Not the public.

Just tried to tax my car four times and keep getting told I can’t do it because they are recalculating, wankers

The world is in a different place now and energy minimisation is crucial so the IEA proposals need sensible consideration not sneering disdain.

What’s the savings in leasing a car for 3 years vs buying new and selling after 3 years

Hi, I don't have a problem with EV's but we don't produce enough electricity for our current demand, how are we going to charge all the EV's? It takes years to build new power generation facilities, shouldn't this be a big talking point? I'm sure it will if the lights go out when everyone plugs in the EV to charge.

Those fuel cost figures are interesting Jim. 35% to the government in fuel tax… no wonder they’re dragging their feet on charging stations! I still think there’ll be some kind of battery tax in a decade…
Those eco friendly ideas for cars are from the same people who have revised the Highway Code recently… don’t get me on that 🤬😖.
Only 1.2% views from ladies Jim? I can’t include myself in that figure, cos I’m ‘definitely not a lady’ 😂🤣😆!
Yours is pretty much the only car channel I watch, so I’m doing my best to fly the dnag flag… I even mention it to friends ( all 2 of them 😁).

The problem with electrics is they are so expensive. If once the chips become freely available again their price comes down dramatically to cheap car standards then they will be in affordable budgets for more people. For EV's to take over from Internal combustion we need them to be 12000 for a fiesta alternative not 20, 000. What we really need is a ramp up of the rapeseed based fuel alternative to completely phase out Oil based fuels in under 10 years. Yes this is not perfect however when you take into account other factors it is a lot lower carbon footprint than Oil based and even lower than EV's for the first 5 to 10 years of their lives. Some people will think I am crazy on the EV but those people are not taking into acount the hideously huge carbon footprint of making a EV and on top of that most electricity generated is from gas fired powerstations they have a huge carbon footprint and are extremely dangerous. If one goes up they will destroy a 5 mile radius. That is not numbers pulled out of my ass its from the safety briefing when working security for a gas fired power station.
