The fact that the Beluga is finally in game is something that I thought would never happen. It's a little sad that they weren't able to get their hands on the actual model but their homemade one still looks very good.

fun fact : the beluga is actually a bit smaller than the original atlas model, also the powercell pods in this design (completely different development team) are considered cooling pods lorewise

Beluga carrying both vehicles is a game changer for me, seal is also as far as i can see is more buggy compared to beluga.

Also you can fit beluga through most of the spaces a cyclops can fit but seal cant fit through many places because of its girth

For me Seal wins on scanner room and interface at the helm. Beluga wins on pretty much all the other stuff. Objectively docking on Seal is good, but subjectively I love the "drop down" docking stations on Moonpool/Cyclops/Beluga.

I really wish the FCStudios Automation mod could get updated to 2.0. I'd love to decorate the Beluga with all the furniture from that mod.

The seal reminds me so much of the SR-71 Blackbird mainly because of the engines and the winglets

The reason why the SEAL is better for a modded playthrough and the Beluga for a “vanilla” playthrough is because the Beluga can only hold vanilla vehicles and the SEAL can hold modded vehicles like the Odyssey, Wraith, etc.

I think the real difficulty of subs like this is constructing a narrative that makes the size of these make sense.

The seal lets you make multi purpose room modules like the bio reactor nuclear reactor and alien containment

Funfact, beluga has less unavaible space than seal, seal would be 2x thinner if we would include only the width of rooms.

The agility mode is a stroke of genius. I hope they will add a similar system to Subnautica 2's submarines.

I'd be so cool to explore realistically deep and big oceans with say 3-5km of depth with those subs. It's a little bummer though that the bigger sub can only hold the Sea Moth or the Prawn Suit. Maybe they should have make the door in the back of the docking area bigger, so you could just walk in the next room with the suit.

Seeing these new submarine bods make me wish it was possible to download vehicle mods on to use on other systems. Or even that the Atlas was finished, even if scaled down from the original size. These all look way too good.

I feel like the Beluga better fits as an upgrade to the cyclops in terms of purpose, while the Seal excels at being a “mobile base” more so than a straight up long voyage/ exploration vehicle (due to its lack of maneuverability)

I love the Seal Sub but what i dont like about it is that leaviathans attack the docked vehicle

Scanning tech on these subs is the gaming break tech I wanted in the actual game.

I would like to point out that the seal has those jet intakes at the front of the thrusters, complete with the warning labels, BUT they also made a proper shrouded thruster at the rear of the thruster housing as seen on modern american submarines (and some other nations). Notice the gap between the motor housing and the thruster output. That is actually where the water wound enter the thruster, not at the front of the module. The two different design elements conflict. The Beluga did this right.

The atlas (based on concept art floating around the net) is supposed to be a larger sub than it presently is... I hope someone takes the project and continues to run with it, perhaps learning from the beluga and improving on it.

The seal... cool sub in a vacuum... well implemented, but does not have the right feel to me. I like their control systems, but the end product does not feel right.

Some of the other videos floating out there imply that the atlas... erm Beluga is easier to get the materials for than the seamoth, so if you know where the devs put the plans and "special materials" you can have a beluga within a few in game days... If true this is poor design on the part of the mod devs, and highly disappointing. Really makes me want to mod the mod for a more realistic build process.

My only complaint after that is "DANGIT!!! we need a working multi player mode/mod!!! These beasts are made for teams... Hell the cyclops is made for a small team!"

W vehicles. Agility mode is pretty good but I like the interface of seal more

thw atlas submarine is used by altera for medium time exploration whilst the seal is used for long types of exploration as it is made to fit more poeple alongside it has enough space to add all the comfots needed

For me the Beluga is missing doors and an interface like the cyclops and its perfect
