I almost died listening to this song 6 years ago. was on LSD. had a severe anxiety attack. blood pressure was 180 above 120. heart rate 150+. I was 19 at the time. listened to this song 2 days ago for the first time since. being scared as fuck doing so. now i have to admit. this track really gave me a reality check and made me better myself since. now i cannot stop listening to it. My favorite metal track ever. that, yes, almost killed me. Love it!!!!

I didn't mean that it is Hardcore in the sense that it's the same subgenre as bands like Black Flag or whatever.
But it belongs to the Hardcore family. It resides in the Hardcore sphere, along with most other Deathcore, Metalcore and Grindcore bands.

No, because I'm not saying it's Hardcore Punk, like the previous mentioned bands.
What I'm saying is that during rock music's evolution, it basicly split into two different things.
One was Hard Rock. The other was Garage Rock.

From Hard Rock came Heavy Metal, and from Heavy Metal came all the different subgenres of Metal. Doom, Power, Death, Black etc.

From Garage Rock came Punk. And from Punk came Hardcore Punk, and from that came Post-Hardcore, Metalcore, Deathcore and Grindcore.

@ThatSillyMosher Okay, 5 bands? Decapitated (Carnival is forever is an insane album), Devildriver, Lamb of god(sacrament was great), Textures, sabaton. It's not like any of these invented a new genre per sé, but they did bring a fresh, new sound to the scene, which cannot be said for this band, it's just something that has been done over and over and over.
