Neff Slide and Hide - fixing the oven door hinge

5 years ago (time flies!) I made a video showing how to remove and replace a Neff Hide and Slide oven door. I also mentioned I had a struggled to get the door back on as the hinge 'broke', or rather one bit disconnected from another bit and it took me a while to work out what to do.
A lot of the comments on that video mention the problem and I've been asked several times if I could do a video of fixing the hinge.
5 years... sorry, it took me a while, but I recently visited a kitchen we were installing having had a call that the oven door wasn't working properly. It was the same problem, so I filmed how I fixed it.

"I solved it in the end! The hinges have to be pulled all the way - ie the claws pushed ALL the way back in order for them to be lockable. Do left first and then right. Keeping both little twin-roller sliders on the claws (with the bar between) whilst man-handling the hinges takes some 'patience.' Then once you have refitted the door and reset the hinges locks you must open the door slightly to reset the mechanism - before trying to close it."

Thank you very much! The last time I tried to clean my oven door it showed the problem above when replacing the door back. It cost me £45 to get an engineer to fix it in five minutes! I could not fix the door back on my Neff oven and Neff said I would need an engineer to come out and fix it. I subsequently followed your instructions and the door is back on. Brilliant. You have just saved me £106 engineer charge.

This was an excellent description! My husband and I removed my parents' oven door to clean the inside glass and found we couldn't get the oven door back on! Wuhay!! Fixed my Neff slide and hide door after advice from Roots. Thanks so much! The video on fixing the oven door hinge is brilliant. Top tip - I couldn't get one of the oven door hinges to lock in the open position, and the answer is to keep trying because (as discussed on the phone with Roots - excellent service thankyou) there is a sweet spot which for my oven is when, using the screwdriver as recommended in the video, you hold the hinge at about half to two-thirds of the open position and then turn the hinge lock. After a few tries I managed to get it to lock and the oven door is now functioning fine. Thanks again...!

Hi Steve, thanks alot for sharing as this video was very helpful. Had the same problem as when I removed my door missed the steps to turn the screw and lock the door in a mid open position. So had to get the hinges in the lock position first before I could re-attached the door. I found it quite difficult even with the video but realised after some time that I was not pushing the clip far back enough to get the lock to engage! Anyhow after some perseverance and with the help of your video I sorted it. I will not be missing that step again!

I have just struggled to replace the Neff slide & hide door. I managed to get myself into a right pickle, ending up with the bar at the bottom of the oven right out of the tracks and shedding the roller bearings to boot. Thanks for this, the oven door jammed and when I took it off the bar and rollers at the bottom came apart ! From your video I could see how they should be fitted back and then I engaged the lugs as per the video and was able to refit the door. Very relieved !! Thanks again.

Thanks, I was stuck when the left hinge on my oven door was in an incorrect position (on refitting the door) and would have needed to call an engineer without your video.
