The fact that Caraxes was the only who finally defeated vhagar says and shows how Caraxes is the MOST fearsome and badass drags on being he was smaller then meleys he felt the hate daemon had for aemmond since they were so bonded too so he went in that battle and flew on business and won

In essence she truly defeated Aemond and Vhagar, had ‘em both collapsing to the ground with Vhagar injured. She just underestimated diabolical Aemond who resorted to a sneak attack as the only way to take down a skilled dragon rider.

This was only the 2nd time that dragons fought other dragons in battle in Westeros. The 1st having been Balerion who quickly destroyed Quicksilver. So Meleys never had any experience fighting another dragon, especially one who was so much larger than herself. This was indeed gut wrenching to witness the awesome fighting power of these creatures... and its only going to get worse going forward. Much worse 😢

I dont understand why she kept sending out one dragon against vhagar anyway. If she sent Rhaenys with another dragon rider she would have had a chance.

In the end vagar had more experience in battle. Everyone thinks vagar is evil in this but shes doing what all the dragons are doing only difference is she huge battle wnrn and can and does throw her weight around figuratively and literally. Vagar is a unit gotta give her credit granny isnt one to mess with

Sending Meleys alone was Stupid, with two more dragons like Caraxes and Syrax (i know she is a diva, not a fighter) Aemond wouldn't stand a chance
