I think at first the writers planned to make a sequel in the second half of the 2010s, but they realized that the actors were already past that tender age when their sex scenes look pleasing to the eyes of the audience. And then they were forced to reschedule the shooting to a later date, when the actors become noticeably older and rougher. There will be no more explicit sex scenes. There will be more drama. This time between the aged and battered heroes.
