So the max throughput on your APX530 and APX740 exceeds 1Gbs (up to 2.3Gbps for the 740) and they both have dual x 1Gb NICs, so are you meant to aggregate switch ports to get anywhere near like the documented max throughput? Or is this to connect another device? You guys don't seem to mention it....anywhere...thanks.

does it have to be an sophos access point ?

I downloaded the Sophos XG firewall ISO file and installed it on an old Small Form Factor (SFF) computer after adding an additional Ethernet port on the PCI Express slot, and a WiFi Card as well to another PCI Express slot on the Motherboard. It works with the two Ethernet ports but it does not broadcast a WiFi Connection. Does the installed WiFi Card not serve as an Access Point (AP) to broadcast my configured wireless SSID? It allows me to configure the wireless SSID and password and set frequency but it does not show any pending access point or active access point at all.
