Hot Wheels Lunch Break

Hop aboard a small car on its way to a picnic in the park! Look freely around at the trees, sky, and competing racers.

Special thanks to Gordon Oney for designing the custom car mount by attaching the Insta360 One X2 camera onto a modified “Zoom In” chassis. Special thanks to Alyssa for assistance in building the tracks and devising the “Lombard Street” section. Filmed at 30 fps in 5.7K and played at half-speed with interpolated frames generated by Adobe Premiere’s “Optical Flow” feature. The car (chasing a blue Twin Mill, taped to the front of the rig) rolled on its own from tube to tube in each section, with the seven track sections edited together on the computer. Best viewed through a virtual reality headset using software like “Virtual Desktop” (available on Steam) which can play 360 videos from YouTube links.

The fact that 5mmm joined in 2010 and still hasn't reached 1million subs hurts my brain, this channel does not get the recognition it needs. Been a viewer since the hotwheels stunts video but my childhood favourite one had to be the hotwheels Road trip video that one was so good the nightmare one was good too.

Having other cars really add some sense of depth. It makes the whole world feel larger because other cars are going about their own businesses. You guys should do it often! Even if it's just as simple as another car going overhead or another car going alongside and then taking a different path. :D
