Inflation is rampant because the gov introduced tons of unearned money into circulation. The furlough scheme and the grants created all this money which has pushed up the price of everything as more money chases the same (or less) resources.

The thing is, yes there are reasons why fuel prices might have increased but it's also just an opportunity for energy, oil and gas companies to push it to the extreme. For instance, Shell saw a PROFIT of £8bn in only 3 months, double what their profits were this time last year AND they won't be paying windfall tax? Yes, the government need to support families more, and in my opinion the support available is absolutely disgraceful. However, this model means that the government is essentially spending millions to support the citizens because their money is going into the pockets of the fuel industries. Does it not make more sense to regulate the oil and gas companies from increasing their profits like this. Fair enough, it has become more difficult to supply and that should be accounted for but it has been used to exploit the people and severely damaged businesses and the UK economy. Not just energy and fuel have gone up, everything has because every business' supplies, distribution and own outgoings have soared meaning they have had to put the prices of their products up, in turn again meaning the cost of living is higher than what anyone can afford.

Despite your best efforts I really do think many families will still suffer - and you as Government will inevitably be blamed for it, even though you didn’t directly cause it. It is unfortunately a lose-lose situation, but I hope we as a country can get through this.

in 2008 the banks etc were bailed out , if that money was given to each of us we would ALL have got 23, 000 pounds EACH. now the theory was that give it to the rich and they will go out and spend and that money will 'filter down' to the man on the clapham omnibus. (this isnt true as the rich tend to invest in long term gains) anyhoo this money has sort of filtered down to us common man so it must now be taken off us with the other hand .

Sorry but I don't trust you to do anything of benefit for us anymore! Your spending money like there's no tomorrow. Our bills are huge and you do nothing. Energy companies have never made so much money, profits are through the roof yet our energy bills are increasing alarmingly. Bet hey, why should you care ? You're sitting pretty in a stately home with no financial worries whatsoever!
