Dude, yashin is a 2010s class goalkeeper, IN 1960s. He's literally 50 years ahead of his time. He's The first ever modern goalkeeper. If the best attacker is the hardest question, the best goalkeeper is the easiest question ever.

Yashin.

That era is so underrated, Yashin, Puskas, Di Stéfano, Pelé, Garrincha, Sívori, Didi... So many legends but nowadays they're overlooked...

The fact that the ussr had such a good team that they could afford to leave a ballon d’or keeper out the squad is insane

You guys do not understand it. He changed the playstyle of all goalkipers forever/ Forever. Before him noone played like him. ANd after him goalkeepers started to play LIKE him.

He was first the goalkeeper that actively left the line to affect potential shooting angles. GOAT.

Honestly ballon dor would be so much more interesting if it wasnt exclusively awarded to forwards.

Yes he is the best goalkeeper in history

6 times nominated. Even Kahn only 2 times and Neuer just one. Yashin is something else. He is the best.

He is the best compared to his era. Im terms of skills Cassilas is the best but football is much harder today than it was in the 60s

What you didn't know is that he was excellent goalie in ice hockey (where Soviet were much more powerful than in football) and he choose football in the end.

People dont understand that saying “any regular pro couldve done it in the 1960s” is VERY false
Players nowadays have top quality nurses, doctors, chefs and trainees, in the 60s they didnt have half of that.

Buffon is the greatest goalkeeper of all time and there is nothing that will change that unless a better goalie comes in the future

if he have active play in today with nowadays circumstamces (modern equip, evolved work out, tactics etc.) he could be unmatched

He is the only to ever do that because in last 30 years the number of goals and occasions created by a team is double or triple than the 60s, so it s more difficult to keep so much cleen sheets for a keeper now and even if he managed too, there will still be attackers with 40+ goals to surpass him in the ballon d or ranking
