I hate that even the Samsung budget phones aren't accompanied by a charger anymore. Then again, I think it's cool how far these budget phones have come: 5 years ago... USB-C, 64 GB ROM, a camera setup with more than one lens and a fingerprint sensor were exclusive to premium-tier models. Let alone 5G and 90Hz displays which even the most expensive phones didn't have at that time.

Just got this phone yesterday and I'm digging it so far. I came from a 7-year-old Samsung, so this phone is light years better. I basically use it for email, text, phone and a tiny bit of internet. I'm told the camera isn't that good, but I rarely take photos. So, for a simple user like me, I would definitely recommend.

I ditched my old galaxy A50 for this phone (because it was free for me), and it really shows how much they added to the A series since 2019. The A13 is slightly worse than the A50, but the overall performance is better, even though it's technically lower end.

These are the main things I noticed that may or may not change people's mind if they switch from an older, but higher end phone:

- The screen isn't an AMOLED screen, the color is more dull, and viewing angles are worse. The resolution is only 720P, so pixels are noticeable.
- The speaker is slightly better than older A series phones, but not as good as S series phones. There is more bass on this phone compared to my old A50, but some notification tones don't sound as good, such as alpha. Some tones are quieter than others.
- The fingerprint scanner on the power button is snappy, but annoying to use. When used with a case, it often doesn't register as easy as if you don't use a case. Also, it's much more picky than other scanners. The A13's fingerprint scanner doesn't detect my fingerprint if my fingers are slightly wet from sweat, or holding a cold drink.
- The camera is higher resolution than older generations, but the image produced is worse than older A series phones, such as my A50. The screen also makes images look washed out and less vibrant.
- The screen is one huge fingerprint magnet, and the fingerprints don't rub off like other phones! Alcohol just causes residue, and microfiber cloths just smear the fingerprints. Adhesive dust removers are the only thing I find to work when cleaning the screen.
- The blue light filter is really bad on LCD displays! on AMOLED, blue light filter gives a subtle yellow tint to the display, but with LCD, the filter makes everything look orange, including the gray UI elements in dark mode.
- Haptic feedback is much worse! The vibration motor is very cheap compared to the ones found in higher end phones. The motor spins up and down, rather than quickly buzzing. This makes it feel much worse when using it for haptic feedback. Vibration patterns are less desirable, because the cheaper vibrator motor affects the way it feels/sounds.

Overall, This is a decent upgrade from an older A series device of a lower spec. If you have an A10e, A20, A30, or newer versions of these phones, this is a good upgrade. If you have an A50, A70, or S series device, I'd go with a slightly higher end phone, like the A33, which has an AMOLED screen, and more features than this A13 5G.

Had this phone for about a month after losing my iPhone 12 and like it a lot for the price. Its pretty quick, large enough, sound is nice and yeah I'd recommend!!

I have the Samsung A13 G80 variant. Having owned Android phones since 2009 HTC Hero and many many flagships, in between including Notes, I just needed a cheap phone quickly and in all honesty this phone is great for the money. TIP: Turn off the animations and it will feel so much snappier.

It's hilarious to me that this phone (which you can now get for $100 at Walmart) could even remotely be called out for its "subpar camera". For a $100 device, it's phenomenal. I remember my first digital camera in 2004 and it easily rivals those photos. It's for making good 4x6 pictures, not poster size.

I’ve never owned a Samsung phone before but this one looks really good for a budget device. I’ve seen reviews on it and people mostly complain about the display, cameras, and lack of dual speakers. Those things are important but for $250 you’ll trade some things on any phone in that price range. I’d rather have great performance with calls, texts, surfing the web, and general use. Displays aren’t a huge deal to me because I’ve never owned an amoled over the top phone. Cameras at this price point aren’t gonna be great either but it gets the job done. Dual speakers would be the biggest problem for me because it makes a huge difference. Again though, considering it’s price the A13 offers a lot and those things aren’t dealbreakers. Trust me, if you get a current Motorola at that price range you’ll get trade offs too. You’ll get dual speakers and maybe a slightly better display but you’ll have atrociously horrible phone call quality, processors that don’t age well, and limited updates to support the device. For the price segment, you gotta decide which trade offs you can live with. The A13 5G looks really good for what it does for the price.

One thing that annoys me (not on this phone) is the newer phones don't even HAVE a headphone jack (this one luckly does).
Samsung wants you to get a converter device that connects to the USB-C outlet and converts to a headphone jack for $20 and it is not even located in the right spot to begin with!

I think I’m going to go with the A13 it’s more convenient for my budget and it’s what’s available at my nearest store.

I just switched to a A13 today and so far its WAYYYY better than my 2 year old A11. the A11 was giving me problems from the start. hopefully this one maintains my standards.

Samsung is on a roll, been using the A22 LTE for a while and before that the A01. Both are really solid phones and the A01 is still going strong while comparable xiomis and redmis are long gone.

The rep at Best Buy pushed this phone and it's being delivered tomorrow. After viewing your review, I'm pleased with my decision!

Ive had this phone about a day everything runs perfectly smooth camera quality isn't the best my only issue but you learn to adapt with it. (Would recommend putting on warm filter)

I've been looking to upgrade from a Moto G Power (2019) which I absolutely love. It was advertised as a battery monster and it would last me 4 days for the first two years, now it only lasts 2 days. Was excited about the Samsung A13 5G, but sad to see it's barely a 2 days battery phone. I've been spoiled and I can't go back, waiting for another battery beast to come out..

Just got mine a few days ago. I'm still evaluating it but, so far, it's performing well. The bonus... As a Boost mobile customer, I got it for $79.99. Sounds like I got a bargain.

This is the first phone review I have ever watched since having my first in 1999 lol. It made calls, sent txts and had Snake. Now we're complaining about our phones not being a good camera, PC or hi-fi, lol.

Watching this review, I just got this phone for $171 granted its 2023 now, but my current phone (Motorola) is now 4 years old, so this is a considerable upgrade. The camera is almost the exact same one, and I believe it does everything I need it to.
