Portugal's 2017 entry broke the record mentioned in the video, even after applying the new voting system, by scoring 758 points. It was also the first time they ever won this competition. I know this video is from 2016, but I thought it would be cool to point it out.

The most astounding result was 1998 in my view, because Israel and Malta had the same points before the last vote came in and then Macedonia gave Israel 8 points, so only Israel and Malta had the chance to win. After that Ireland received the 10 points and it was quite obvious who would get the 12 points. But unfortunately Malta didn't get a single point of Macedonia, so Israel won...
Even now when I rewatch that scene I'm so full of hope that Chiara would win, although I already know that she wouldn't xD

Everyone who is arguing about how Rybak still holds the record, nope!! If the old system of the 10 favourites of the entire country was used, Portugal would actually have 418 points, meaning they are actually the ones with the record.
