I have this same setup and am very happy with it. It really is surprising how few videos there are on this machine let alone the aluma pro gun.

That is good seeing a video about the push pull gun me personally I'm using a $340 welder that is a 235 amp output with a Teflon liner and I'm using 5356 al wire and getting the same results as your welder and I have a primeweld TIG 225x w/the water cooler and i find it easier to tack and sometimes weld it out with the susemse Mig-235. I can say for one thing that practice is the key to the best weld.

arc length should be 1/2 to 3/4, your buttweld was too much, and try to have your gun virtical over the butt joint, my 255 does 1/2 single pass on steel, but itl do 1/2 aluminum too, 3/64 wire

No personal offence intended. But your 20 gauge weld looked like phidos butt. The 3/8 doesnt look to bad. It sounds as if the freq is automaticaly changed with amp setting. My take is and has been for a long time that the thin stuff better sticking with the TIG. And production with the thicker stuff is definately increased with the push pull. I never was lucky enough to have a none worn out push pull gun to work with. So just stuck to TIG. Thanks for the video. Im getting ready to purchase a 255 miller in the next 2 weeks.

Not a criticism, just a question. Why so much stick-out? BTW, if you have to tig thicker aluminum, use an argon-helium mixture. If really thick, straight helium with DCEN on the torch.

Didn't notice a fume extract or respirator when welding aluminum?

So the Millermatic 255 will weld 1/2” aluminum with no issues, correct ?

How would you weld thick to thin . Settings ? Like a worn bed floor patch

You know you actually don't need to do all that pausing on the aluminum weld puddle with an alumipro welding gun. Why not just try running a bead without all the pausing like you do with tig. Why? Because the alumipro guns are set up for just straight push welding, and since you are not welding steel, it's really unnecessary to do all that whip and pause technique. And you arc length on welding that 20 gauge definitely was way too far away when welding any and all aluminum a person should only have about 3/8" to 1/2" of wire stick out anymore than that and you are really sacrificing gas coverage for a pure weld.

Just use MUGGY WELD aluminum low temp....

Buddies arc length is way too long, not consistent and on half inch slow it down it’s thick metal man

Your stick out is way too far, as for sheet aluminium man I wed 1mm shit all day, I wouldn't even call what you did welding, turn down your amps, pause on every spot weld, start the second movement as quick as you finish the first run.

When welding aluminum you have to travel VERY FAST. You can weld light guava material easily just by moving way fastwe
