The biggest thing you gotta look at when considering trade in credits is the plan requirements, take for example Verizon, to get the $1, 000 USD trade in you have to be on their most expensive current generation cell phone plan, which compared to my 5G Start plan would be an extra $20 a month or an extra $720 over the 3 years of financing that you have to maintain the plan for, so for me it's effectively only a $280 trade in credit, where the $750 Samsung direct trade-in is agnostic of your carrier plan (but on my S21 Ultra is only $550) so if you aren't on the plan required to get the big carrier trade-in you might come out cheaper off in the long run to take the lower face value trade-in from Samsung.

The best deal is to order from Samsung. Went with carrier trade-in option, which is $800 for my S22 ultra. I also got the $150 credit. To get it to work, i had to change my plan with my carrier and set it for immediate activation. Samsung website won't let you change your plan through their option box. You'll see a stick with your current plan box and change plan box. The change your plan box can't be clicked. You just click stay with your plan. The $1000 off is misleading. You have to pick the highest tier Unlimited plan to get that deal. Mine was the second in price which gets you $800 off.

Edit: My carrier wasnt giving me anything besides the $800 trade in. Samsung gave me the $150 credit plus my $50 pre order credit. I got 4 things with my s24 ultra

Traded my S22 Vanilla for a S24+. Got $450 for the S22, and thought that was a decent enough price. The difference was $549 and included a few free screen protectors and a free fake leather case with the credits. Glad I got in as soon as they went live. The delivery date is on or before 1-22-24. Went back to the site and can't get on now.
Decided to try the larger version. Will be nice to have a QHD screen again.

I pre-ordered the unlocked version of the S24 Ultra in Titanium Black with the 1TB storage variant and it was $658.79. I got the full trade-in value of $750.00 for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, used the reward points, and just paìd the difference of $699.96. This is my very 1st Samsung device, and the S24 Ultra is 🔥.

I pre-ordered the S24 Marble Grey based on the trade in value and offers which was decent.
But i am hestitant to cancel as i have the s23 and the change from Snapdragon to Exynos puts me off.
- Trade in value for s23 was €385.
- Free double storage upgrade 256gb.
- 100 euro samsung voucher put towards galaxy buds 2 costing 60 euro.
- And promo-code with 91 euro off.
- Total 500 euro for s24 and galaxy buds 2.

I've been trying to pre-order the S24 Ultra but everytime I get to the checkout, it tells me the request couldn't be processed. I checked the military offers option (military veteran) but they didn't give me the discount when I reach the checkout page. The military offers signup page is not working. It just gives me the signup page without actually starting the sign up process. Looks like Samsung is just overwhelmed at this point. How long is the pre-order period going to last? Looks like I won't be ordering anything today.
