Arlo "the cut man" is always Magic Jamie yells "57 long of the long" and somehow Arlo knows exactly what he needs, at what angle and what pitch on a compound cut. Arlo is a JEDI Master.

I like Jaimie's raw and realtime brainstorming as he builds the rafter edge there, kinda nice for a #letjaimietalk segment

The porch roof makes it look less like a box. I've enjoyed watching how the Perkins Construction team work together on this project and others to produce quality built homes.

I do enjoy when Jaime explains stuff. Between geometry and framing. Just love it. Thx all

You boys need to get palm nailers to do those tight places and joist hangers.

The only thing wrong with your videos is that they are over before I’m done wanting to watch them. 😊😮😊

Watching Jamie teach the boys is inspiring. Feels like that is what your job site was like pre-you tube. More of that please!

I always leave a 2” space between house and deck so the deck can always dry out. I use a spacer typically

Jamie is such a good teacher/mentor to work with. I could listen to him all day. He really needs his own spin off channel

In your area as in mine out riggers are not required for overhangs under 12”
You simply run roof decking 12” out and nail a 2by under

Simpson makes a concealed-flanged hanger (Model # LUC210Z-R) that you can use for the first and last joists against the ledger. Better and stronger then screwing the joists into end grain of the ledger. Then you can fasten your band/fascia board to that joist.

Jamie G!!!! For Genius…! I keep being amazed by the ease of thinking you’ve got. 👊

Duplex looks great so far
As a builder for over 45 years I have learned to always find the easiest way to do things. The easier way to frame the porch may have been to run the shed roof end to end and sheath it then stick frame a fake dormer on top .

Love watching these guys build. Also they explain so much. Not just how to do something but why. Thats just as important.

Always a good move to have the off cuts land on the electrical cable, keep power cables clear.

That was a very good explanation of how to tie in two roof planes using the rooflines.

That porch roof really churched up this property!
