In today's episode of the Faith and the Outdoors Podcast, I address the topics of Faith and Works for clarification for those struggling with the topic, as well as the topic of women priests and gay marriages both of which will never be allowed in the Catholic Church. I explain why they will never be allowed in the Catholic Church.

I enjoy a lot of your hunting content and as a fellow Catholic really appreciate you standing up for Holy Mother Church. It is certainly a challenging time with the confusion being created from both outside and within the Church. It is most important during a time such as this for the laity to educate themselves with the traditions and perennial teachings of our Faith in order to stand up against these falsehoods and ensure it is passed along intact to our children . You did well in covering each of these topics from the Catholic perspective, thanks and God Bless!

Thank you for covering so many questions and hang ups to the Catholic faith. I’ve followed many Catholic channels and you really hit the targets. It must be the hunter in you😂. One bit of advice I want to contribute is from our priest who is a newer priest of less than 5 years. He told us to keep our hands folded in prayer during the Our Father. 🙏🏻 No hand holding and mimicking the priest. The thing is that old habits die hard and not everyone was present to hear this request. We still have about 20% that raise their hands. It would be nice to have an etiquette card in the pew to help those that are new and just returning to the church to help them understand. You explain things very charitably.

I won’t receive the Eucharist unless I am kneeling. That is what I need to do to remember what I am receiving. I understand others don’t need this. But I do. Not receiving the Eucharist when under unforgiven sin is also a big game changer

Our society has gone mad. That much I know. And the struggle between good and evil is real. Can’t wait to tune in to this video later. But for now I gotta get to work. Thanks Sean

Ok first the issue of justification gets over blown by both Catholics and Protestants. The protestant usually has the idea that Catholics are pelagian or at least semi pelagian. In other words, Catholics are saved by a combination of faith and works because of their own merit. Catholics usually straw man the protestants by declaring that they believe in Faith alone, meaning works don't play a role at all in justification/ sanctification. Obviously, there are different traditions within Protestantism that have slightly different views of soteriology. The main point is, I reccomned actually taking some time to look at good primary sources for the Catholic view of justification and the protestant views of justification. These sources could be the Council of Trent for the catholic view and for the protestant view you could look at the classic Confessions and creeds. These would include the Westminster Confession of Faith, Augsburg Confession of faith, and the London baptist confession of faith.

St Matthew 25 “….not everyone who says to Me Lord, Lord…” Even Christ says you have to do more than accept him as Lord.

There is a distinction between works of the law and good works or good deeds as you described. Knowing protestants won't acknowledge the difference because to do so would undermine their "sola fide and sola scriptura". They also have a hard time with Catholicism due to our use of the fullness of faith. Prots are used to clips of the bible as though they were playing cards whereby one scripture verse trumps another. This leads to going in circles with them. They ignore chapters in favor of verses. They ignore tradition. They ignore history. One argument they like against works is "the good thief" argument which is easily refuted. However, our rebuttals are rarely accepted, and they treat us like atheists. Never forget, the burden of proof is on them, not us. They left, not us. I pray your presentation leads some to challenge their bias and seek the truth. Sadly, I doubt many of them will sit though this whole thing. A Catholic that knows the book and his faith scares the ever living out of them. I deal with a lot of Pentecostals at work. They love brining bible stuff up at work. I have made them stutter more than a few times. The really anti-Catholic ones even have some mantra they repeat when they are proven wrong. It is weird. I don't hate any of them, but I don't get that same feeling back at times. They usually leave me a lone for a month or two after disagreements. I love the back and forth as it have made me grown in my faith. The bottom line is that "faith alone" is not biblical and is an irresponsible doctrine and leads to many problems, especially with the youth. My sister's non-denom megachurch even acknowledges this and has backed off on it. You need as the Catholic Church teaches, faith and works. God Bless

The “pill” destroys women’s health. No such thing as free sex. Trying to get around the procreation part of it in the end creates misery.
