Sula is the GOAT. I remember being unsure how to feel about it after my first read, and then absolutely blown away my second go of it. I would also really recommend Song of Solomon! So many good new goodies!

How did I not know about Kerry Washington’s memoir?? Also we are here for the historical/classic reads! These Walls does sound SO interesting and informative. I haven’t read Sula, but I have read 3 Morrison titles and my favorite is A Mercy. 🤗

I'm actually reading Homegoing for the first time right now. It's one I've been intending to read for years! I'm only on the second chapter but I am getting the sense that it's going to be gut-wrenching but amazing.

The book that interested me the most was _These Walls_. I grew up in the town of Attica, which the #1 employer was the Attica Prison. In winter when leaves were off the trees, I could see the prison from my bedroom window. Foul balls from high-school baseball games could land on prison property.

_Sula_ is good, but I can't recommend _Song of Solomon_ enough. I have read a LOT of books, and it is in my top 10 favorite books.

I want to read _Homegoing_ as well. I would love to hear your thoughts on _Half a Yellow Sun_ by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
