Pearl is one of the most emotionally broken characters I've ever seen in fiction. Once you finish the series, you really have no idea how to feel about her. Most the fanbase hates Rose/Pink, at least from what I've seen. But Steven hates her the most, so Pearl standing by her, even during Volleyball's arc, is a questionable move at best, even though I still understand her reasoning for standing by her. After thousands of years of service and dedicated love it would be hard to throw it away, but she always knew about half the bad stuff Pink did, and STILL stood by her. And then after she dies, Pearl's relationship with Steven is so broken and emotional, that Pearl is just destroyed now.

pearl has always been my favourite character in the series and as the story developed and how we learnt how broken she is it just makes me love her more because she needs it. in my opinion she is the best mom for steven cause if anything happens to him she treats him like her own child and was by far the most emotional when anything happened to him especially when he left at the end of future

Understanding the quality is what it is because of the source material, I really love this arrangement. You've found a great way to build upon the original and it progresses in a way that keeps building the intensity until it reaches a satisfying conclusion, the way the original had to do faster and shorter. I love the way it flows.
