I have very expensive white wood custom blinds from Hunter Douglas on all my windows and they are beautiful. They match the white wood ledges and woodwork perfectly and allow light control and are classic and neutral for any kind of decor. You can add curtains over them or to the side easily. Those brown woven woods I have never found very attractive, my sister had them in her condo and they do not provide complete privacy.
