When I was a kid, we had a fax machine. One night mom left me home by myself and I didn't know how fax machines worked. Randomly it went off, someone was sending a fax or whatever, but it freaked me out so bad that I actually had a breakdown everytime I heard one go off until I was like 15. Hell, even at 21 I get goosebumps when I hear the dial up tone

Every time when I went to my grandparents home, they had a fax machine. At that time, I never knew how they worked, they randomly go off, or people just send fax. One night, my grandparents left me home with my cousin, then I would get goosebumps or feel weird/scared every time the dial-up tone sounded. Hell, even at this time, I know much about dial-up and the sound of dial-up connections still give me goosebumps a lot.
