Back to Bargello - An introduction to the ancient art.

All good things come round again…that’s exactly my outlook towards Bargello! Do you remember the days of the flame stitched pillows and the geometric design stitched accessories? It’s time to revisit the days of Bargello needlepoint - carefree stitching, therapeutic, colorful, easy and fun.

As a professional needle worker, I became so passionate about this technique it’s fair to say I have acquired an addiction. The combination of soothing, simple repetitive motions and the constant dancing of color ways make Bargello both meditative and exciting at the same time.

It is very easy to build upon row after row without a great deal of thought. The materials are minimal- yarn, a needle, canvas, and scissors- along with inspirational patterns.
