The Commentators premise here is fundamentally wrong. Conservative core beliefs are centered around self determination, freedom, freewill, the establishment parties however and their leadership both Democrat and Republican have moved dramatically away from these fundamentally American concepts. The Establishment's fear is legitimate, freewill at it's core opposes the establishment and existence of Empires, both Foreign and Domestic. I think many, including myself believe that America was conceived as an experiment, a hope that America could one day become an example that Self Determination and Freedom could be sustained. I believe that most Americans genuinely feel that if we allow ourselves to be seduced by the "allure" of Empire then America is lost, freedom is lost, hope is lost. Votes and rhetoric win the day!!! Everyone was saying it was only about elections but at the end of the day there were a number of elections, some resulted in weaker cities, weaker infrastructure and some resulted in higher crime. It is often said that the public voted for it and so now they live with it. There was a lot of reduction talk upon the country, upon the leadership, upon the future stability and now they are saying that the weakness of the country is the biggest threat to world security. Makes me sick and angry, very angry. Local elections are important for strong community, national elections for a secure nation and the people should be less inclined toward weakening and destruction and more inclined toward success and being grateful.
