That Frank Skinner bit killed me the first time I watched the episode and it got me again this time

Shame, I assumed this was gonna be about the stupid suggested sizes of portions. Like a cake that obviously goes into 4 or 6 and they said 8-10.

There actually was a semi-successful Finnish blog about serving suggestions. They went and bought food with ridiculous serving suggestions, and tried to replicate that and then review the suggestion. It was hilarious. Also about the impossible serving suggestions, in a layered berry-porridge product within it's own container, there was a serving suggestion where it was layered the same way up (porridge on bottom, berries on top iirc) in a glass bowl, and getting that from its own container into a glass bowl that way proved to be impossible without making a huge mess. The company was contacted, and they actually replied. "Sorry, we actually cheated. We made porridge and the berry-stuff on top straight into the glass bowl, it's impossible to get it out from its container to a glass bowl". :D

You should rename this to Frank Skinner: Ridiculous Serving Suggestions | Modern Life is Goodish

Top billing in The Pink Panther (1963) originally went to David Niven. But Peter Sellers was so hilarious as Clouseau that in later publicity, his name was made more prominent than Niven's.

When this was first broadcast I was so pleased to see him doing something on ridiculous serving suggestions. This is something I've been into for ages, and I make a point in looking for them. Also, that is a fantastic shirt.

Earth girls are easy (the movie).
Originally, Jeff Goldbloom was the main guy on the box. 20-30 years later, it was Jim Carey.

I like how Frank Skinner looks all depressed like he's had to enter room 101 to find something.

I have, in front of me, a packet of Tesco own brand 'Garibaldi' bisuits. These biscuits are packed as four single slabs, each with four score lines to indicate that each slab is actually five biscuits. The serving suggestion is a plain purple background with a part slab of two 'biscuits' with a third one broken off! Check it out the next time you're in Tesco.

So I'm not the only one who eats tinned tomatoes for lunch.

I bought some mini rolls last week which had an interesting suggestion to eat them from frozen.

It was shit.

2:30 Boring real answer: Because the serving depiction is a lie. Coconut milk is not really the watery juicelike fluid in coconuts, coconut milk is an extract from the pulp that's harder to do on your own. Real coconut water is basically a clear sugar drink.

Just to say - 12 in a box is fucking brilliant… Dave is right, Miranda is very much not the focus but it’s a great little film… very British
