I never watch a game of WNBA until now. The WNBA got to have the worst ref in all sports.

Even that miss said “that’s the ref’s fault, stop picking on Clark!” ….

The refs didn't call it? It was a kick ball.

They call touch fouls on Clark and let other players bang on her for 90 feet and how do 3 refs not see the obvious kick at mid court???? There was at least twice the suns had obvious travel calls and they didn’t call it either. I can’t believe it is intentional but wow has the reffing been 1 sided. I watched carrington screaming at the ref and nothing and when Clark screams for a foul, she gets a tech. Fever are getting better and have only been together for 3 weeks so they will improve. Sides needs to have Boston set a pick at half court to stop the 90feet coverage and that would also initiate the offense better as the other teams center won’t be guarding Boston at half court…

Carrington acting like she did something special. Literally rewarded for playing soccer

Those who believe that was a kick ball obviously don't understand basketball rules, a kick must be intentional. Understand the word "Intentional" just because a pass is his by the knee or below doesn't always mean kick violation. Hell if you want to be petty the Ref could call the many carriers when some players dribble

I was gonna say it wasn't a kick ball, but it was. She stuck her foot out to stop the pass. You can't do that. Well, she got away with it.

Refs call every ticky tack fouls on the FEVER but allows the other to play jailhouse ball. It's crazy

24 fouls on Fever & only 13 on a crazy physical Connecticut team! Should show clip of Thomas lowering her shoulder into Samuelson, who was standing in place, charging into her & knocking her to the floor. No call - refs were terrible!

Besides all of the many player weaknesses in the WNBA, the officiating is at the top of the problems.

Players, coaches, and refs all bitter about Caitlyn’s publicity

Caitlin got me watching the WNBA, but I have to be honest.
Carrington was just taking the same side-step she did a couple times before. For that last one, she had already started putting her right foot out for yet another side-step BEFORE Caitlin started the pass. Watched it at 0.25x speed.

Very clearly not a kick-ball and for the commentators to be saying this is a clear example of one shows a ton of bias.

Amazing how refs in every game I’ve watched will let players get beat up without a call but then call fouls when a player doesn’t even get touched. Just like the refs in the college but even worse

Get a grip, Karens. The refs aren’t out to get Clark. She’s just not the Great White Hope y’all were expecting her to be. She’s a slow-footed defender who’s spent the last four years developing really bad habits while playing 80% of her games against mediocre competition. When a male player puts up gaudy numbers in college at a mid-level major & struggles at the pro level nobody cries for him. He either adapts his game, ups his game or finds something else to do for a living.

I expect Caitlin to evolve into a very good pro-player but she’s not there yet. I don’t know how long it’ll take. She’s already quite wealthy thanks to her old NIL deals & that 28 million dollar contract she signed with Nike.

That shoe deal is gonna be huge for Clark. Unlike most young WNBA players Caitlin won’t need to spend her off-season playing in Europe or Asia. If she is smart she’ll use some of that shoe money LeBron-style & hire a trainer or three & a dietician & focus on improving her strength, wind & quickness during her first professional off-season.

A lot of people compare Clark to Steph. What they forget sometimes is that Steph was a late bloomer as a pro. Much like Clark he got bullied during his first few years as a pro because he wasn’t very strong & he spent a lot of time matched up against guards who were bigger, more powerful and more explosive than he was. It took several years for Steph to become STEPH.

Caitlin needs to be patient. She needs to learn to play off the ball, use screens more effectively & work on her defensive deficiencies. She’s always been an effective cutter & a good finisher & she is, of course, an elite shooting talent. That said, she has almost no midrange game & she should probably cut down on the logo threes.

You don’t get extra points for a thirty-five footer & even though Clark’s a far better deep shooter than just about anyone else in the W she’s not like Curry or even LeBron. She’s more like Luka, a gifted long-range shooter who takes a lot of unnecessarily difficult deep threes. Doncic loves to bomb from deep & he averages 8.6 three-point attempts per game for his career. He doesn’t make all that may of them, however & is a sub-35% three-point-shooter for his career. He’s also a TO machine who spends too much time jawing at refs when he should be getting back on D, kinda like Caitlin.

I’m not a “hater.” Calling people haters is what irrational stans do when their boy/girl keeps failing upwards and they got nothing but ads hominems. I wish Caitlin Clark well & I think she’s going to become an excellent WNBA player & a perennial all-star. I just don’t think she’s ever gonna be the Great White GOAT & her fandom kinda gives me the creeps.

Before Clark came along I’d never wondered what would happen if a Tim Tebow fan, a Kobe fan & a Swiftie got together for a threesome and somehow made a baby together.

Y’all are weird.

for anyone thinking that this was a kickball, I'm sorry, but you've got the Fever fever a little too hard. Slow down the video and focus on situation. Carrington's eyes are focused on Clarks body. She is shuffling side to side to continue blocking her. This was just a really bad pass. The best I can say is the ball slip and she accidentally hit Carrington in the foot. If you're still unsure, put yourself in Carrington's position and see if you would have done anything different.

The refs didn't call anything, because there was nothing to call until Caitlin shoved her in the back. If you're still not sure, look up Rule 10 "Penalties and Violations" in the NBA rules.
