Decided to try out a GD-88. It has several features that interested me. Bought one directly using a coupon. On checkout they charged me full price instead of the reduced coupon price. When the radio arrived four days later, it was a brick. That’s one strike for every interaction with them so far. Radioddity REALLY doesn’t seem to want me as a customer. I’ve notified them of their mistakes and we’ll see what happens.
The second one they sent me had a malfunctioning screen. Followed the process they recommended, and eventually the process caused the radio to brick. Dead as a doornail.
Radioddity sent a third radio. This one has been 90+% functional. GPS isn't working/APRS isn't working. The radio isn't detecting GPS satellites. I suspect this is a bug in the firmware. This one probably doesn't need new hardware, but new firmware.

Hi Ben, I hope you're doing well! I have a quick question for you. I have two radios, a Baofeng UV-5R+ and a TYT MD-UV380, and I'm using the same antenna for both. I've noticed that the Baofeng UV-5R+ seems to have better RX sensitivity for weak analog signals compared to the TYT MD-UV380. Have you noticed this difference before? Thanks!

have you tested AES on the stock software that comes on radios like the TYT MD-390 or Baofeng DM-1701 (it seems to be very similar software on these 2)

Took me a while to figure out the -v4 flag so in case anyone was looking for how to check their radio's IVs with dsd+ like this try something like below, but changing -i and -o to the appropriate audio source / sink.
