Steven Kruijswijk lost valuable seconds in his fight to win the Giro d'Italia today as he suffered a dramatic crash on Stage 19. Here's hoping he hasn't sustained any meaningful injuries as a result of this fall.

i'm italian, now nibali is back in the race for the win but it's such a shame Kruijswijk had this bad moment, he was riding perfectly till that moment, he would have deserved the final win

One of the most tragic moments in recent cycle history.
He was so much better than the rest, litteraly in his prime peak and in one second he lost it all.
Did not give up and finished the Giro, ending fourth.

It's been years ago now, but this is the fist time I managed to watch it back, tragic.

Kudos to him, cracked rib, not a nice way to end the tour, doing so well, like a champion he kept going
Cheering for Estaban to win, but Nibali will be a challenge

Bittersweet for me because you never like to see a rider go down like that, but now Chaves is the leader!

I'm so sad... after decades there was finally a chance for a dutch cyclist to win a big race again, now it's all over just because of this one crash :'( we also suck at football these days, the only good thing we do is winning F1 with Verstappen...

He still has a chance to regain the jersey tomorrow, but it's gonna be tough.

CLASSIC case of "target fixation" Plain & simple. Rider error. Coupled with a complete lack of countersteering. To lose the Giro due to such a mistake us a shame. He is a very good cyclist, but needs to improve his bike handling skills. Mtb or mx camp... would be hugely beneficial. In fact, many in the pro peloton need to improve their bike handling skills.
