Here your hand works as a fixed end that's why there is a phase difference of 180°.

but, during the 'free end' one, while the spring is connected to a string, the string acts as another medium and the wave is tranmitted to string, then it hits the fixed end, and THEN is reflected back, as per what I think

Now show the correct termination.
I'm dead sure it exists, similar to 50 Ohm termination resistors in electrical / HF equipment
