That Django course you took sounds like it wouldn't discourage a beginner at all. Nothing like overcomplicating things too quickly to help the material sink in. They must've hired the teacher of the year to write that one.🙃

Do you not receive a model object in the template? I was expecting you to call a method to get an array of tags, like {% for y in x.tags() %} rather than using a custom filter.
