Network Noob Overhauls Home Wi-Fi!

Our current home Wi-Fi solution is... weak to say the least! Signal degradation through walls is quite high, affecting upload and download speeds at various corners of the house. The Reyee RG-E6, however, appears to be an affordable solution! Let's check it out!

Really enjoy that Greg is just a normal guy with normal problems and is willing to take the risks and share the rewards with us.

That wi-fi speed is something I need in my kitchen to watch youtube while I am eating breakfast.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that can be clueless about networking. I know enough to set it up and get it working but adding extenders and trying to optimize them can be a challenge and I get terrified I'll end up with no Wi- FI which has happened.

I totally know what you are going through. I am month 10 into renovating our current house. As I type this, a new garage door system is being installed. Just focus on the feeling you'll have when you're all settled in, and it's done.

I haven’t used a conventional router in many many years. Only use orbi mesh Wi-Fi systems since 2016 and will probably never go back. They work so incredibly well and I never not have Wi-Fi at max speeds that I pay for on my property.

Upload of 12mbps is good if your like me and live and rural area where no cable or DSL net. I went with Tmobile and I get 250mbps down and 5mbps up at $50m where a PTP ISP was only giving me 10mbps for like $110 month.

Wow, how timely this video is as I'm also doing research on overhauling my wifi network!

I have a TP-Link AX6000 and it works well but my main reason for getting it was 8 ethernet ports.
I have now added the XE75 Pro mesh system and it absolutely demolishes the router.
I only have a typical 3 bed rental in the UK but I have full signal and speed (gigabit fibre) around the house and even down the road. I also live in a fairly built-up street with a lot of houses around.
Mesh is the way to go if you need Wi-Fi everywhere easily.

That is a good deal. I spent $500 on my NETGEAR Nighthawk RAXE500. I needed something for long-range to run my security cameras and was using an older Asus router that would barely reach outside. Now it works great and reaches farther than I need. Amazing how much difference they can make. Also helped when streaming inside the house too. My old router would cause buffer issues when streaming and now it rarely ever has a issue. Another Awesome video!!

It's a weird coincidence that you should mention integrity. My wife and I have been discussing such to day given the prevalence of scammers and liars out there today. I was just thinking as I clicked on the notification for the video how your refreshing honesty has meant I've stuck with you and enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work 👍

Been looking into a new router with range and great gaming reviews. No hesitation on pulling the trigger on this. Thanks for the code as well :)

I used a Synology NAS and setup LAN Aggregation to try to maximize throughput, but recently they updated the OS on the NAS to support SMB 3 Multichannel which basically does the same thing with no special setup required. Really nice to see that the router supports and promotes it right on the unit, it's a good sign that they're power-user friendly.
