I ended up with my tabby boy when I wasn't looking for a pet at all. His former humans had just welcomed a newborn, and he went from being the center of their world to receiving almost no attention at all. When he came to me, he was desperate for love and affection and if he felt he wasn't the center of attention for even a moment, he would behave negatively to get it. Despite that, he was incredibly loving and loyal right from the start. The only prior experience I'd had was with my roommates' cat, who is sweet and quirky but much more reserved, so I was absolutely stunned to have this big fluffball following me everywhere I went like a puppy from day one! Six months in, he's doing great! Gentle boundaries and lots of positive reenforcement, play, and quality time have helped him feel more secure, and he's more loyal and affectionate than ever. He and his feline roommate are even learning to have fun together without ending up in a wrestling match all the time (yes, we did all the introduction things, and they still sometimes act like true brothers intent upon being the boss). I just touch him, and he purrs like it's the best thing that's ever happened to him. It's pretty incredible to be that loved.

The first cat I remember in my life was a tabby cat. She lived from April of 1997 to August of 2018, which is pretty long of a lifespan when you consider that she was an indoor/outdoor cat.

I've got a spotted tabby (he's a hellion), a ginger kitten in the traditional pattern (everyone loves his silky coat), and a moo cow (his striped tabby pattern shows up in his gray splotches). They all get along and the spotted tabby is by far the most active and would catch many birds if allowed to roam. Cats rule!

I had 3 red tabby cats in my life time. The first 2 were stray cats that was adopted in the house one in mid July 1979 and the other cat was in mid November 1981. The first one was yellow with red stripes pattern. The 2nd one was dark red tabby cats with a little white under his chin, paws, white spot on his belly, and orange and white striped tail. The 2nd cat did followed me around the yard or even sat next to me with one of his front paws on my thigh. He was my bestie for a little bit over 12 years. My 3rd tabby cat that was a cute tiny kitten when my sister got him in a pet store in June 1994. I fell in loved with the tabby kitten. I helped my sister to raised him for almost 3 years in having him as a pet. We also had a tuxedo Manx kitten with that tabby kitten. My sister gave me the red tabby cat before she moved to Florida in April 1999. That cat did knew me as a friend. It was easy for him to get used to his new home. When he was a kitten that he met my 1st cat. They were both red tabbies that were almost the same color. The older cat was so good with the kitten. He did let the kitten to sleep next to him. My sister now has 2 tabby cats. One is a red tabby and the other one is a black and grey tabby with some white. They are both cute cats.

She's not the sharpest cat cos too impatient, full of energy, very feisty and playful, very affectionate (with me) and does not give me my privacy in toilet, sneaks under my blanket every night; very food-motivated but also a food thief, bullies her adopted brother 4x her size often helping him to shed his fur 🤣🤣, with her fav spot of the tree, being the highest resting platform, taking over her brother's fav basket at times.
