Blimey - she NAILED it. How can this fabulous woman at 44 sing with this quality (and passion)!
If anything the voice has improved in depth (and certainly in that gorgeous huskiness shes famed for). OK she didnt attempt the very high sustained note in the live version - but then very few would. And this is so full of sheer CLASS you dont even miss it.
Yes - it's a cover - but again one of those RARE covers that I think actually beats the original. I pay homage to her .... (from the U.K.)

@nercole94hellyeah Sound is good on this apart from a mistake by synth player at 3.40 (unfortunately in a laid back bit), which throws Faith off key - not her fault. But apart from that - its a great and very full on sound production with a well ballanced mix (and Faith sitting prettily in that mix). I listen to it on quality cans and it sounds fantastic ...and so does she. So can't see what your getting at.

@sabrina60ful I'm afraid it wasn't Renee Zelleweger - but Faith's arch (and much younger) rival - Taylor .Swift, who came won the ACM award. Why she was sitting next to Tim McGraw I've no idea (he could have tipped her off her chair). And no - she wasnt looking fondly at Faith at all. I got that wrong too. She was thinking: (yes - she's goood - but I'm young, cool ... and the FUTURE so IIII'M gonaa win .... HA!).
But it's the voice that will be remembered - and that belongs to Faith.

One bit that IS better on this live version than the studio version is the end section from 4.00 where it changres key. This is mishandled on the studio version where it sounds messy and muddled.
But live - Faith lets rip and vocalises the end bit - simply superbly. What a pity producer (who was it?) didnt't just let her do that on the studio version and keep it simple

Not half as embarrassing as that silly comment below. Nervous ??? - oh sure ... that's why she's pogoing about like a teenager having the time of her life (and the band too incidentally who are also having fun - and they are a class act too with FIVE guitarists in the line up !!
Let me tell ya - this live performance is BETTER than the studio recording. And only the absolute top draw acts can achieve that.

Her singing technique has gone, she yells and when singing she sounds slightly off a lot of the time. I’m such a fan but her live performances have been disappointing the past few years.

What tickles me is Taylor's 'knowing' smile at 4.37.
Because she knows (and so does Tim sitting next to her) - that it's Taylor's star that is in the ascendency - whilst Faith's is on the wain.
Because in the end it's nothing to do with REAL quality. - that's not the way this business works is it?

Since Carrie Underwood came on the scene and knocked her down from her pedestal she is not as good as she once was. Maybe time to let her hubby carry the tunes and she raise the kids.
