I wanted to do Lady Colin Campbell justice with my review of her book "Daughter Of Narcissus". In this video, we're going to review the strengths of the daughter of Narcissus & the many challenges she faced before becoming the successful woman she is today.

If you're a daughter or sister of someone who has a narcissistic mother, then this is the book for you. It is a must-read if you want to understand the dynamics of a narcissistic mother-daughter relationship!

I was told about this review and I want to thank you for the compassionate and understanding way in which you have approached it. I wrote the book at the behest of Dr Erika Freeman, the eminent psychoanalyst who was a great friend of my sister-in-law Jeannie (Lady Jean Campbell), so knew the inside track. Erika felt my (really our, the whole family's) story could be a possible help to others who were trapped in narcissistic relationships, if only because our survival showed that one doesn't need to be destroyed. Out of pain and turmoil can come strength as well as understanding, which will ultimately be life-enhancing. And your're so right about my beloved brother Mickey. Now I want to read her book. I have heard her speak briefly of her younger years and her birth defect (I really hate that term), and I think now I want to hear her tell me the whole story. She is an amazing woman. I have a lot of respect for her.

Being a child of a narcissistic mother, I was also horribly abused in almost every way a child can be abused. My heart goes out to Lady C and her siblings. May God bless her mind & heart so she doesn’t have to remember it all, or continue to be hurt by it. 💛🙏🏼💛

I was fortunate enough to "win" an afternoon tea with Lady Colin. What was supposed to an hour Zoom chat went some overtime and was a wonderful, diverse, thoroughly enjoyable conversation. She is a strong character with a dry and wicked sense of humour. And she's extremely gracious. I know her story from what I've read and from our conversation. If you want to read and be inspired to live life to the fullest, her story is one to recommend.

Lady C survived by her intelligence and knew her mom was crazy and that most people were not like her that. It had to help to have siblings to go through it with.

It's an excellent book, well written, & incredibly thought provoking. Not a sniff of victimhood just an honest, almost clinically raw presentation, of how Lady C managed to survive a narcissistic mother, an abusive husband, & retain sanity, integrity, & a resilient determination not to let 'life' define her with admirable class & grit.

I have been thinking of reading this book since I started following Lady C’s channel. I didn’t realise the abuse was that bad. I will read it but have to be in the right frame of mind as it sounds difficult. Thank you so much for this review.

I read LCC’s book a couple of years ago. It was heartbreaking to read how she and her siblings were terrorized by their narcissist mother. Through her strength of character and cleverness, Georgie managed to survive not only her mother’s NPD but the terrible, awful, no-good man that she married.

Her sweet dog Mickey (Mickie ?) who appears at the start of almost every YT video was named in loving tribute to her brother.

I loved this book. I have read a number of her books and I really enjoyed them all. It is amazing how how well Lady C has put her mothers life from her point of view in words while helping us to understanding the narcissist.

I grew up in a narcissistic family, albeit not this extreme. It is hard to overcome the physiological scars. On one hand I would love to read this book because it is good to be inspired by someone who has overcome such difficult circumstances. On the other hand it would be painful for someone like me who knows first hand experience of living with a narcissistic person.

Thomas Markle was into giving MEgain everything she wanted and not saying "No". His little princess. He created this monster, along with other forces. Doria taught her all about "the con" and Tinsel Town instilled her values. 🤮

Thank you for reading this and warning us of the content. I don’t handle abuse of children very well at all or even abuse in adults. I can’t read stuff like that or it gives me bad dreams and weighs heavily on my mind. I had thought about buying it, but I don’t think I would be able to manage it. Although I know it would be wonderful for Lady C. to have a brother with her, it must be a relief for him to not have to live with those horrible memories; poor child. It reminds me of Mommy. Dearest and books like that. I’m sure Lady C has enormous empathy for others in that situation. I’m glad they got out from under their crazy mother and stood on their own and especially Mickey before he died. 😢
