THE BEAUTY OF BAPTISM | Georgia Brown

It’s not a salvation issue⁣
But it is an obedience issue ⁣
⁣
You see, we are saved by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8-9)⁣
That ANYONE who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13) ⁣
Anyone who confesses with their mouth and believes in their heart Jesus Christ is Lord, is SAVED (Romans 10:9)⁣
It is a FREE gift! (Romans 6:23)⁣
⁣
BUT BAPTISM— is an outward declaration of an inward work, displaying that the old has passed away, for behold—I AM A NEW CREATION! ⁣
Pastor says, “buried with Christ in Baptism, raised to walk in new meaning of life!”⁣

Jesus was baptized! (& if Jesus did it… so. should. we.)⁣
His cousin John the Baptist did so in Matthew 3! ⁣
And then led by the Spirit of God, Jesus was drawn into the wilderness & was tempted by the devil. BUT He overcame him by the WORD—it is written, it is written, IT IS WRITTEN! ⁣

Do you have to be baptized to be saved? ⁣
NO. ⁣
But because you are saved you will want to be baptized. ⁣
⁣
What about getting re-baptized? ⁣
DO IT. ⁣
Recommitting yourself to the Lord is BEAUTIFUL. ⁣
…I actually did this past weekend!!! No, I don’t regret my first baptism in college, but now, I’m WAY further in my faith and beliefs and I wanted to be baptized under my Spiritual covering at my Church that truly is MY HOME. ⁣

AND THEN, it was a complete HONOR to baptize my best friend. To walk alongside her and do ministry together has been one of life’s greatest answered prayers. She, too, rededicated herself through this obedient jump in the water. ⁣

He stirs the waters for His daughters. Just like in John 5, at the pool of Bethesda.
