I just put the absorbent material into a piece of old tights which contains it, and don’t bother with the cap. The material stays at the top and the water drips through.

Very good saving idea to make your own d.i.y dehumidifier. This would work great for your home as well but out of the way off pets and children of cause. My only tip would be to cover it at home.👏

Order yourself a big bag of
Calcium chloride online,
It's cheap and works great.

Do dehumifers kill mold already in a bedroom or do they just stop new mold appearing I have mold in my bedroom also is salt effective and ok to use in dehumifer or damp trap when Crystal's have run out I wanna save money and not have to keep buying more dehumifers and damp traps

Very good idea! I'm thinking to put some hot glue on the top and glue a pair of plastic sticks to hold the other part of the container, instead of tying it.
