Wildwoods Construction Update Video - Feb 2025

- The Wildwoods are buzzing with construction projects, from boardwalk upgrades to new businesses and condos. Here’s a look at some of the biggest developments:

- Grassy Sound Pier: The County is rebuilding the old fishing pier from scratch

- Ivanhoe Demo: The former Ivanhoe Motel is being demolished, making way for five family dwellings.

- New North Wildwood Ramp: A new access ramp is being installed on the North Wildwood Boardwalk at 21st street down to the beach.

- North Wildwood Boardwalk Repairs: Structural repairs are being made to maintain safety and stability on a few different places on the North Wildwood Boardwalk.

- New Paint Place in Family Dollar: A fresh paint store is opening in the old Family Dollar building next to CVS on 25th street.

- The Rook: The Rook is taking over the old location of Good Night Irenes.
- Sandy Boots Saloon: The country-themed saloon is finally taking shape on Lincoln Ave

- Tex-Mex La Cantina: The former Hurricane Night Club is transforming into a new Mexican restaurant but work hasn’t started yet.

New Condos on Lincoln: More residential units are being built on Lincoln Ave
- Seaside Solia Condos: The 18-unit multifamily development is underway at the old Lehigh Valley Dairy Farms storage building.

- Wildwood Boardwalk Reconstruction: The decking of phase 6 of the Wildwood Boardwalk is done.

- Wildwood Boardwalk Expansion: Plans have started to extend the Wildwood Boardwalk 14 feet East between Roberts Ave to Montgomery Ave.

100% agree with your recommendation. We want the feeling of Doo-Wop 1950s nostalgia with modern amenities.

We want motels with Doo-Wop era neon signs.

But the rooms can be enhanced. Soundproof the walls, add wood flooring, upgrade the bed with neutral colored bedding, have a nice tv, and update some furniture, appliances and decor.

Think 1955 on the outside and 2025 on the inside.

Despite the condos, Joey, I think this was overall one of your best construction updates — largely because you were so enthused about the nice day, but also because once again you’re able to see the bright side of whatever’s coming to town. Even the condos, which do look pretty nice, grrrr … (Sorry. Retro-geezing again.)

The Crusader is our go to place since 1972. Unbeliveable how many places since then have closed in the Wildwoods.

Too bad they let the condos take over in the Wildwoods and almost trying to upscale the Wildwoods into a Stone Harbor and Avalon. Sad.

In the 30+ years we were going down to Wildwood we saw so many great old hotels torn down and turned nto condos .Makes me sad but not much I can do but reminisce about the great times we had down there

Since they haven't placed any boards as yet, on the new wider section of the boardwalk we will have to wait to see in the next construction video, which direction the boards will be laid, you know horizontal, diagonal, or parallel.

When is the Hurricane being demolished? So sad. I am a Crester and like a lot of Wildwood's funky city joints, the Hurricane is a place I never patronized, but I always enjoyed seeing it.

Any progress made on Icona's Motel Too Far, the late Ocean Holiday, that was supposed to become the Mahalo? Down to the girders now in Year 5. Something else since the Mahalo got built near Diamond Beach? Did the sign get bought or donated to the Museum?

Remember this, little boxes little boxes, that's what those house look like. They're called art Deco not doo op, Miami had them, I've never been to Florida but I've seen pictures.
