Getting to know MS

People with MS, researchers and neurologists talk about why people may get MS including genetic and environmental factors. Risk factors discussed include low vitamin D, infection by the Epstein Barr Virus (EBV), smoking, obesity and more. Researchers explain how there is nothing that a person with MS could have done to prevent getting MS. They explain how a diagnosis of MS may take place including MRI scans and brain lesions. How to recognise and plan for relapses is explained.

MS Research Australia is the only national organisation dedicated to funding and coordinating multiple sclerosis research in Australia, as part of the worldwide effort to solve MS. Its goal is to accelerate research: into the cause, better treatments and prevention, with the aim of ultimately finding a cure for MS.
