Undertaker WrestleMania XX Entrance

Kaum ein Undertaker Entrance war so denkwürdig wie der bei WrestleMania XX im Madison Square Garden in New York City! Niemand wusste, welcher Undertaker auftauchen würde. Sein Gegner Kane war nicht der einzige der staunte, als der Sensenmann zum Ring kam.

I just seen an interview with Paul Bearer. In 2003 he was so morbidly obese and ashamed he wouldn’t answer Jim Ross’s calls to come back for this night. And since Paul couldn’t afford the life saving Gastroband surgery, WWE sent him a three year deal and paid for his surgery as a bonus! I thought that was pretty decent of them.

While I dislike WWE for many reasons I will admit, this is my favourite Undertaker Moment. The build up to his return was amazing and his entrance at WM 20 sends chills up my spine. Paul Bearer returning made the Moment even better.

one of the best WrestleMania entrances ever. I when I heard Paul bearer say" oh yeah". I felt a chill run down my spine. I was just 12 years old. now I'm 30 and it's still the same. rip Paul bearer and undertaker you a great career now enjoy your retirement. the Deadman of the WWE hall of Fame. but I hope to see you again.

Jim Cornette said it best, and I’m paraphrasing but “you don’t actually fear the man, you don’t think he’s dead or fall for any of that. But when you’re in a crowd of 20k fans and the gong hits. You lose your breath, it’s frightening. Then to see him walking down the ramp with the hat and coat. It leaves you afraid. You lose track and get swept up in the moment. Even if you know it’s all a work. He truly had that aura”

This is debatably his greatest entrance. The lead in chanting, the return of Paul Bearer and the Urn, Kane playing up the story to sell it, the druids and fire. His simple black coat and hat compared with all of his other entrance attire over the years. This just feels so quintessential to the larger than life character. I loved The American Badass, I loved Big Evil, I loved the Ministry of Darkness, the deadman, the gunslinger. But something about this version of the character is just perfection of the power of spectacle the company put behind that performer. His entrance was always something extra, the most legendary performers often are- you know every move they will make moment for moment in their music, you remember the pyro, lighting, graphics, everything.

This gotta be the Top 1 Wrestlemania moment, that entrance still gave me chills.
