That’s the kind of quality work you get when VFX artists aren’t rushed.

What’s even crazier is we are getting to a point where home computers can render this in real time. Maybe not the same level of detail but close enough!

Like a lot of ppl said, ppl don't complain abt cgi in movies, only the bad cgi. It's really annoying when you are really immersed in those movies. It's basically the movies saying that nothing in the movie is real and you shouldn't care abt anything or anyone the the movie.

You’re telling me Samuel Jackson wasn’t actually turned to dust for a full year between movies?

Hot take: CGI isn’t bad, it’s expensive and time consuming. Most studios go cheap for movies and rush the process which gives us bad CGI, but if done properly and with enough time, CGI looks good (especially if used to enhance practical effects)

Samuel L Jackson’s wasn’t CGI btw, they just need a model so the VFX can interact with his body, than they switch to a digital double when most of his body is gone.

CGI is like a bass guitar. You only notice it's there if it's bad, but it wouldn't be nearly as good without it.

"Samuel L Jackson" was a long-term CGI project ILM came up with in the late 1980s.

Dude the recent Deadpool and Wolverine had a scene where Cassandra Nova puts her fingers through the head/face of PARADOX (Head of one of the TVA Departments), and everyone including me were trying to figure out how did they do that.

Some said, the fingers are CGI, some said the hand is CGI, while some said, both are real, but overlapped and face was distorted to give that effect.

After Marvel released BTS of the shot, turns out the whole HUMAN BEING (PARADOX) was CGI, and no fking one could tell that it was nit an actor playing the part, but a 3D character.

Okay so i did know off the bat it was mostly CGI but it was done so well and was such an impactful moment that no one cares. It's only when it's done badly that people care

Nah I wasn’t able to tell. I genuinely thought that Samuel Jackson just vanished.

"Good CGI is Imperceptible"

I really got that when the interviewer, in a podcast episode about CGI, mentioned a movie about Chico Xavier.

"But where they used CGI in this movie?"
"Everywhere. His face was all CGI".

😂

The "Pov, you are camera filming MCU" meme actually became true

I don't think anyone's saying CGI can't be absolutely amazing, I think the complaint is the over-use of CGI ... Its about minimizing error, the more you use CGI where a practical effect, or a more hybrid method makes sense you increase your potential for error and that's what gives it such a bad wrap

That was CGI? The actor didn’t disintegrate? What a relief!

I still complain about bad CGI because if they used practical effects and only CGI’d small parts to spruce it up a tiny bit, it would look a lot more solid and they’d have a lot more time to perfect all of the CGI

Black mirror already exposed that the actors don’t even have to be on set with the level of cgi they’re using

It was perfectly dropped on the ground for the scene l. Of we could tell.
