The Mystery of Shell Grotto

Less than six feet beneath a residential neighborhood in the English seaside town of Margate lies a mysterious underground cavern. Nicknamed Shell Grotto, the subterranean passages wind for 70 feet and are adorned by millions of seashells. Who built the cavern and for what purpose remain a mystery.

I used to live there a few years ago and locals say it was a
“Generational Witches cave”
Apparently it was used by local witches over time and they kept adding to it building the Shell Grotto.

There is also an alter room/sacrifice room.

It isn’t believed to have been constructed in the early 1800’s, that’s just when it was discovered . Nobody knows when it was truly built.
