Keeping in mind that she sadly died in1999, the most clear evidence of how classic/timeless a style she had is the fact that not one of these photos of her looks dated. All of these items still hold up to today's standards.

I remember seeing her at Greenwich train station. She was waiting for train in morning with me to take her to NYC she stood close by to me outside on the track as we waited for train to take us to NY. it was winter time and she wore a long black coat. She had no makeup but strikingly beautiful. All the men who walked by her would stare at her. She was demure and her head would be slightly down or look to the floor. I still remember that moment. Her beauty overpowered her simple black clothing.

Every single outfit she’s wearing is still wearable and could be worn in 2023. You will not ever go wrong if you stick with classic.

Carolyn would be the perfect poster child for the quiet luxury trend of today. Her wardrobe may seem simple on the surface, but was actually very considered and luxurious with the fabrics and fit. And she wore the clothes they didn’t wear her, I love her approach to style. I don’t see many ladies these days pulling that off.

They were stunningly good-looking people. So sad that they died so young.

She looked so classy in her style. Clean, ironed and well fitted.

The real example of the “quiet luxury” and “old money” aesthetics. Gorgeous woman ❤

Her best accessory was her husband who clearly adored her. Her 2nd best accessory was her confidence. She knew what she wanted, what she looked good in & did not compromise her comfort. What a lady she was. Thank you for making this.

She was tall, thin and blonde (lightening her hair several shades took her from pretty to head-turning). It isn’t difficult to look amazing with those traits, but she knew, as Jackie did, how to dress and style herself for maximize impact. Classic, timeless designs. Nothing fussy or loud. Simple lines and silhouettes, high quality fabrics. The wardrobe Givenchy did for Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s, ” “Funny Face” and “Sabrina” evoked the same essence — elegant, feminine, sophisticated and chic—never stuffy or trendy.
She and John Jr’s mother were kindred fashion spirits.

A friend of mine lived near her place in NYC. She said in person, Carolyn was absolutely stunning - way better than in pictures. Gone too soon. RIP

Carolyn understood the less is more aesthetic. This was actually the trend in the 90s following the chaotic style of the 80s. No over done makeup, minimum jewelry, and her hair simple yet chic. Shes so timeless

I was in my early 20s in the late 90s, thin and tall in a family of curvy, petite women. Carolyn's style helped me understand how to dress myself, that it was worth it to spend money on basics, and to think a whole look through. Her style still looks amazing. I miss the late 90s clothes, best fashion era!!

Her style is so classic, it looks fashionable 30 years later.

Mom started dressing me in prep at age 12. At age 71, I'm still wearing the same looks: Oxford button down, cashmere cable knit, cotton, suede and corduroy...and tweeds. I weigh 8 pounds more now than when I modeled so I can wear my things from 1969!! Classic understatement never fades. Thank you to Polo, Ralph❤

It’s 2023 and her style would easily fit today and look amazing.

Timeless. Nothing fake, loud, gaudy, or torn. No jeggings and no bra straps hanging out. Nothing vulgar and no door hanger earrings. Pure class.

It's normal to repeat outfits, buying a million items like we have today is insanity.

I was obsessed with her style and beauty, her clothes, hair, and makeup, so simple and elegant!. It was so sad when her death was confirmed. She'll always be I think my favorite fashion icon!!
