Fun fact, the same thing can happen in humans and there's a special harness that the babies have to wear for a few months until their hips have the right placement. It's completely treatable so long as you keep the hips in the right position as they grow but untreated it can lead to being unable to walk though since the treatment is fairly easy and cost effective it's rare for anyone with access to modern medicine to be left without treatment nowadays.

At 16 I got a chick hatched in hi school lab like this, put it on a rough rug for traction & “ exercised” it till it walked well. 2nd chick (Tinky) walked on 1 leg for years as my beloved pet.😍 Gettin teary🥹

My parents gave using an incubator a try last year, and we got 2 chicks. 1 i had to step in and help her hatch, and she had a majorly clubbed foot or at least something close to that. Amazingly, her leg straitened on her own. I'd gently uncurle the foot from time to time.

We did this with my cat (pictured) she had swimmers syndrome when we rescued her. Perfectly fine now.

Used a straw and my sister’s super soft hair elastics. I also put him in daily Epsom salt baths. Worked like a charm.

We had to dothis a few times, their first time walking after a few weeks in the tape is amazing! I always love watching it

I’ve had to do this quite a few times for orphaned song birds and they are soooo fiddly! They are so much tinier, I feel like I’m a lol thumbs😂 makes the chickens seem easy by comparison tho so that’s a bonus😅

We've had geineas that have had spraddle legs so this will help a lot

For us we feed a rubber band into a shortened straw and put the feet through the rubber bands sticking out from the straws.
