I love this documentary, it represents an era that will probably never be matched again. My great granny went on it in her 90s on one of those Bay of biscay flights, they treated her like a movie star.

I speak to some British airways pilots, to this day they still talk about Concorde. They still say it shouldn’t have retired.

The people behind the design and build of this mechanical marvel are also as fascinating. RAF veteran Harold May, the father of Brian May of the band queen was an advanced engineer and draughtsman for the ministry of aviation. As well as designing and building with precision his son's iconic guitar the "Red Special", and also all the appliances in the family's home, he was part of the team that designed and built Concorde's landing gear. Unfortunately, Harold May could not afford to fly on it, until his son Brian May became a millionaire and flew him to the United States on concorde in 1977 so that he could watch him perform a concert with Queen in NYC's Madison Square Garden. Harold May never approved of his son Brian abandoning his Phd studies in Astro Physics at Imperial College London to persue a music career with Queen, however, after travelling on Concorde and watching his son perform, he shook his son's hand and stated "ok, I get it now."

Brian managed to get his Phd later in life. His father would have been proud bless him.

“People working together”…….those are absolutely fabulous words. And I love how they spoked about the workers from both countries “teasing each other” but in a good sibling rivalry type of way….this is absolutely great to see I love to see this sort of thing. So cool.

I flew on the Concorde. It was the most beautiful aircraft I'd ever seen. Interiors were comfortable but not luxurious. I remember bi-fold bathroom doors and ergonomic two by two seating that was better than coach but certainly not as spacious as FC. Food service was extraordinary as were the flight attendants who were te cream of the crop. Braniff had a joint venture with BA for service out of DFW and everyone loved seeing the place at the gate. I can't wait for a new version to be rolled out in the next few years.

Now I have an answer when someone asks "What would you do if you could travel back in time?"

I feel so sad about the Air France Crash, apart from all the innocent people who lost their lives. All the Concorde's had a heart and a soul.

The most advanced, fascinating, crazy, bad ass passenger airplane ever made whit 27 years of service under the belt, today we are not even close to something like Concorde and probably will not be for next 50 years, 60's and 70's golden era of aviation based on pure enthusiasm, engineering almost whit out computers and a little bit of money.

Many of us can never kick the bucket since a ride on the Concorde will never be checked off the bucket list. 🤪
