In this video, we’re going to talk about migraine headaches and caffeine.

When I was in practice, I would regularly find that my client who had migraines also drank a lot of coffee. If you don’t already know, caffeine can actually be a trigger for migraines.

87% of Americans drink coffee. On average, they consume 164mg of caffeine each day.

Studies show that two or more caffeinated beverages each day can trigger migraines. 3-4 caffeinated beverages a day increases your risk of migraines by 1.5X, and five servings increase your risk by 2X.

Other migraine triggers include:
• Weather
• Sleep
• Stress
• Low blood sugar
• Loud noises
• Bright lights

I’ve narrowed down some remedies for migraine headaches.
1. Decrease or eliminate your caffeine
2. Take magnesium
3. Go on a healthy keto diet
4. Increase your sodium
5. Massage your gallbladder
6. Take sea kelp

I eliminated caffeine completely six months ago. I feel reborn and relax. No more head aches, no more pain in joints and muscles. When I wake up I feel energetic the second I open my eyes. Caffeine must be a serious poison.

Not a fan of coffee, but I actually found that it helped with my migraines when I used to have it.

I suffered with migraines from age 13 to 56. Hormone related! When I hit menopause my headaches completely stopped. During those years I sometimes found relief after vomiting. My daughters are also prone to migraines. I’ll pass on the links below. Thank you Dr. Berg!

I had six migraines per month for 20 years. Started a low carb (“ketovore”) in June 2020 and have not had a migraine since.

I never drank coffee, but I drank caffeinated soda and I suffered from migraines bad for almost 2 years. After many tests, and medications I decided to give up caffeine. My migraines were gone.

I woke with a headache every morning - gave up coffee and 2 days later no longer had headaches. Have coffee maybe once a week now if out and about!

As a lifelong migraine sufferer & estrogen dominant person, I'd like to give my take. On your advice, I take sea kelp and find it excellent for energy and mood (thyroid) but haven't seen a diff in migraines. I Do however believe that its not the caffeine itself, but the dehydrating affect of coffee, tea and sodas that contribute. If you drink coffee in the morning then find you get a migraine about 10-11-noon, then ask yourself if you have drunk any water since your coffee? Keep water with you and sip throughout the day especially after coffee and soda. Especially when you feel one coming on drinking some water seems to help ward it off. If you wait too long and its full blown it may be too late but i believe this is the one thing i can say has helped. Also the triptans i take can also have a rebound which contributes as well. Right now, i am taking DHA supplements for the 1st week to see if this helps anything. PS Huge Dr Berg fan here!

I use to have severe migraines when I was young, but eventually grew out of that. But, if I get a migraine now, I have found that aspirin and coffee helps tremendously! I don't drink much coffee, but it's my go-to when a debilitating migraine attacks!

I suffered dreadfully from migraines from 13 years on. Now that I am over 50, and looking back, I suspect the root cause was stress- hugely dysfunctional family. They went along with very bad eczema as well. I had a major psychological trauma at 12 and pretty sure now that's what started it all off. But you do get huge cravings for coffee, red wine, and chocolate when you feel one coming on, so not sure how that works. BTW, addressed the trauma and no contact with family - no more migraines!

I enjoy my Turkish coffee so much, but I think I have no other choice but to limit it. Usually my migraine in the left side of my head. Yes, I also have pain in the neck too with the migraine. I literally feel the weather pressure as well. Thank you for all this info!

Strange! most doctors tell there patients to low salt "sodium" in this situation since it is related to high blood pressure. Always alot of thanks for your vids 👍

I had to cut back on caffiene for my headaches to 50mg or less per day. The next biggest factor for me is food high in tyramine. I have had to cut way back on certain foods and that has made the biggest difference for me.

God Bless David Goggins 🙏 I've done it before, had flashes of brilliance and with this video I believe I am doing it again but on a higher level and at will because bad things are coming death is inevitable so it's time 🙏

Water is important for your overall health, but it's especially important if you get migraine headaches. In one study, when people who get them added about 6 cups (1.5 liters) of water to their usual amount, they said they got fewer headaches. They also said they had less pain when they did get headaches.👍

Did a 60 hour fast, I was drinking electrolytes specifically Dr bergs...started to get a severe migraine. I was surprised considering I drank electrolytes and water and still managed to get a really bad migraine.

Could it be I drank too much sodium?

For me it’s the strong sun in the summer that’s a trigger
