"If you can eat it, you can have it as pizza topping."

- Sweden, probably

We have those same dippmixes as well in Finland, and obviously the same brand as shown 😂 mixed with sourcream it can be enjoyed with veggie plate too! Cup up cucumber and carrot sticks, some cauliflowers, what ever else you like and dip them in the dippmix, yum ☺️

Every time I travel from Sweden to the UK to see my swedish friend he always says:
"Can you please for the love of GOD bring me some dipp bags?"
Ends up me buying a whole bunch :)

Hmm, I have never heard of rödbetssallad/beetroot salad being a Christmas specific thing, sure it usually is on the Christmas table but it is available year round and personally I buy a tub 1-2 a month and eat it even without a meatball sandwich. Same with pickled herring, it might be more commonly consumed on holidays but it is still available year round. 🤔

I also would recommend a dish called 'Flygande Jacob', probably my favourite Swedish concoction.

Something that surprises me when people talk about Swedish food is that many forget that we have a long tradition of street food, we call it korvmojen 😂. Something that is super good is flatbread roll or like we say in Sweden tunnbrödsrulle. Flatbread rolls with hot filling are sold in hot dog stands and street kitchens as a fast food meal. The filling usually consists of sausages, mashed potatoes, some kind of mixture such as cucumber mayonnaise or shrimp salad and often also raw or roasted onions. As a rule, ketchup and mustard are also included in such a flatbread roll.

That dip can also be used for salads as a dressing or for the taco friday. So yaa why not. It can be stored in the cupboard and you only need to buy the sour cream or creme fraiche to mix with it.

Oooh and a baguette with meatballs and beet root salad can be found in the cold food section in most supermarkets

We DO have ready made dip, but it usually taste rubbery and with an aftertaste of chemicals. The "powder" is usually all natural ingredience and with the sour cream, it have a very fresh taste.
If i sit with riends and a movie, i usually also add some chunky salsa and nacho chips.

"Fredagsmys" is basically making a verb out of "cozy things on a Friday evening". It stems from the idea that you celebrate that the work for the week is done and now you can have a relaxed nice Friday evening doing "fredagsmys", which can be watching movies, eating stuff associated with the occasion etc.

And yes, the powder is bought with sourcream.

We have the powder dip in Norway too, mix it with sourcreem, and enjoy. We also have the beetroot salad, it is so good on liverpate 😊

Beetroot salad is essential for a Swedish meatball sandwich. It is also the bane of every bearded person!

I do it with Creme Fraiche others do it with gräddfil.

You don't have to leave the dipsauce in the fridge for hours tho, like that guy said. 10-15 minutes is more than enough. :)

We eat beetroot salad all year round but its mostly around Christmas, Easter etc. Meatball sandwhiches are amazing, I really recommend to to add fresh sweet red bell peppers and chopped fresh parsely. It really ties it together😁.

Pineapple and banana pizza is actually really good because they add curryspice. The only thing I dislike is the texture but the taste is good. Bolognese pizzas can be hit or miss, it comes down to the bolognese.

We also have like 2 pizzerias in every corner over here so your mileage will definately vary as some are really good while others not so much. Kebabpizza is amazing, we have kebabrolls too which if you get it from a pizzeria, the flatbread used is actually made from the pizzadough so its basically a rolled up kebabpizza but usually with lettuce, fresh onion slices and peppers added.

I also really recommend the pizza sallad they all serve, its sorta like a coleslaw but except mayo mustard its done with wine vinegar, oliveoil, oregano, black pepper etc.
The dipp thing is really simple you just get a spicemix and mix it in a bowl with sourcream or gräddfil and you are done. We also like bearnaise on EVERYTHING even on pizza lol.😊

My daughter has invented a thing with the powder that we make dip with. Use it as a popcorn seasoning. Game changer. 🎉

I don't know what he's talking about. Beetroot sallad is not just a Christmas thing, is it? Sure it's commonly found on Christmas tables but it's not frowned upon at other times. At least in my experience people eat it year round.

You don't have to use crisps to dip... I gave successfully had parties where I served paprika (bell pepper), cucumber or carrots cut in staves to dip.

I never considered it weird that we mix our own dips...😂 I mean the spice mix is ready so it's not from scratch but I guess having it mixed for you is even easier. You can also buy powered soup and sauces in stores, they taste fine!

There are two salads with beetroot. One is a mayo-based mix called rödbetssallad that is eaten with cold meatballs on bread, all year around. The other is sillsallad. Diced herring, beets, apple and onion. This is a staple at christmas and has a distinct flavor of pickled herring and green apples.
