A criminally underrated Gorillaz track that has beautiful instrumentals and awesome lyrics from the legendary Lou Reed. RIP

It's sad that no one ever talks about this song. It's so good. Lou Reed's vocals compliment the instrumentals perfectly. 2-D's verses fit in so good too. Sad that Lou Reed is no longer with us anymore.

Sounds like he’s responding to the question, “what genre music is gorilaz?”

This song is one of my favorites from this album.

The live concert in Atlanta tonight was my first concert. And the entire time before the concert i was hoping they would play my favorite song. Though I thought it wasn't going to happen due to Lou Reed dying soon after the Plastic Beach concert. But when out of nowhere they started blasting this song I couldn't help but cry.
Rest In Peace Lou Reed, and Long Live Damon Albarn

In a weird way this is probably one of the most happy Gorillaz songs.

[Chorus: Lou Reed]
Some kind of nature
Some kind of soul
Some kind of mixture
Some kind of gold
Some kind of majesty
Some chemical load

[Verse 1: Lou Reed]
Some kind of metal
Made up from glue
Some kind of plastic
I could wrap around you
The needy eat man-mades
They wear phony clothes
They sit with barbiturates
Until they grow old

[Chorus: 2-D]
Some kind of nature
Some kind of soul
Some kind of mixture
Some kind of gold
Some kind of majesty
Some chemical load

[Verse 2: Lou Reed]
Well, me, I like plastics
And digital foils
To wrap up the sound
And protect the girls
From the spiritual poison
You spill at night
Like phony clothes but
I really like mine

[Chorus: Lou Reed and 2-D]
Some kind of nature
Some kind of nature
Some kind of soul
Come forth within us
Oh Lord, forgive me
Some kind of mixture
Some kind of gold
It's gonna come and find us
All we are is dust
[Verse 3: Lou Reed, 2-D and Both]
Some kind of metal, some kind of metal
Made up from glue, made up from glue
Some kind of plastic, some kind of plastic
I could wrap around you
The needy eat man-mades
They wear phony clothes
They sit with barbiturates
Until they grow old

[Chorus: Lou Reed and 2-D]
Some kind of nature
Some kind of nature
Some kind of soul
Come forth within us
Oh Lord, forgive me
Some kind of mixture
Some kind of gold
It's gonna come and find us
All we are is dust

The fact they got Lou Reed still gets me

Lou Reed, the dude who knew and worked with Iggy Pop and David Bowie, as well as Metallica

It's like a web, a web of interconnection.

I literally owe my life to Damon. Gorillaz has carried me through an intensely Dark time.

I'm seeing a lot of "this song is so underrated" but there's something funny, almost every song of Gorrilaz are a piece of art from my view, there's a lot of hidden gems from Gorrilaz, just go and listen to every album, every single, every song that you can and you will notice that the majority it's too good

This one of few songs I would consider a perfect, stone cold 10/10. It does so much in exactly 3 minutes, it’s mind-blowing really.
