Webasto is a perfect tool, especially when factory-integrated in the vehicle like my VW Passat. But I only had a remote control for it, which does not reach the car when parking at a distant place. So I took the remote and put it into my own device for control through SMS and created my app, for a fraction of price that webasto charges.

great except it takes 30 minutes to warm the engine and defrost even a 1.5 diesel ...Thanks for confirming "individual quick" but hey, no Uk webasto agent I phoned knew anything about it and certainly didn't stock it !!!!With no choice left but to work out how you did it....The job came in at £30 in bits to bin the timer and go remote switch and add a timer circuit and valve that split the heater and engine water circuit and functions exactly as the "individual quick" kit does.The heater blasts hot air out in 3 minutes and in 10 you are ready to go and and suddenly the webasto..BECOMES a very useful tool in winter and burns naff all diesel !
