is that fig soft when you touch it? the reason i ask is figs also arent completely ripe until they are drooping down and its very soft also when you break it off if you see any of the white latex oozing from the stem it probably wasnt done. however its hard to catch them at that ripeness because the birds will beat you to a ripe fig almost every time unless you net your trees or bag the fruit. i notice yours are never pecked letting me know if the birds didnt peck it it may not be fully ripe. i do think they were close though
