Simple Putting Tip - Pete Cowen

Many of us lose too many shots on the greens. In this video, Master PGA Professional, Pete Cowen, explains the quality of the strike and the importance of striking the ball on the up to hole more putts. This simple but effective explanation will hopefully make putting more enjoyable and less frustrating, especially with those knee-knocking four footers!

This puts the bottom of my ROSSIE II one centimeter above ground level at impact. I moved the ball farther forward to achieve this arc without perturbing my swing. It’s like hitting driver on a smaller scale. The clear sound at impact is one I hadn’t heard before. Brilliant.

I played a tournament a couple of weeks back and had 40 putts in a round of 83 with seven 3-putts. My fairway % was excellent and I was in most GIRs giving me good birdie chances but I wasn't able to putt anything and by the end of the round my confidence had gone really low. I think my game would really improve if I can just work out the putting. But I just don't get it. I'm missing easy 3 foot putts and am leaving all the long putts short because I'm worried about going past the hole. I'm just not able to get a stable and smooth putting swing. What can I do to just get my average putting strokes down?
