Residents of the city of Rubizhne are living in bomb shelters as fighting intensifies in the largely Russian-controlled Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine. For now, people have managed to continue to secure enough supplies of food and water in the city. It is nearly 100 days since the start of Russia’s invasion, that Moscow describes as a “special operation” Luhansk has become the focus of the conflict after Russian troops shifted away from trying to take the capital Kyiv to focus on gaining full control of two eastern provinces Moscow claims on behalf of separatists.
