Hmm, it says "cut it to your preferred size" and "make sure you only cut through the scissors mark" but the marks are some 30+cm apart so I cannot really cut it to my preferred size, can I? any experience with that?

That’s odd. I cut it but the part I cut off lights up, not the part that stick on the desk.
